We are off the dock!

Friends said goodbye to us as a wonderful pot luck dinner at Bill and Ella Hammonds on Tuesday evening. It was also Mark's 65th birthday! My oh my, how we will miss our dear friends!

Jeanne Nygard helped us take our last load up to the boat on Wednesday, the 28th. It will be fun to see if we actually run out of anything.

We stowed at lot of things and then went to bed. Mark got up around 2:30, walked the dog, and then fired up the engine, threw the lines, and began our trip North. I heard all this but didn't bother to get out of bed. The tides were favorable in the wee hours of the morning, in case some of you are wondering why 2:30 AM. He had only motored a hour, when the winds picked up and he put up the sails. We sailed all the way to Kingston Harbor on Bainbridge Island.

I was please to find that the marina has wifi service.

Tomorrow we go to Port Townsend for the Wauquiez Rendezvous Weekend.

In just four days...

In just four days we leave for our great adventure of sailing to Alaska and BACK in our boat.
Mark have just a day and a half of ER call left.

Our family is getting together today at Mike's house to celebrate Mark's 65th birthday (May 27, 1943). Mike is barbecuing salmon and halibut. He is also frying cod and potatoes for fish and chips.
I am trying to get my art framing orders finished and delivered today. Tomorrow we focus on the last minute details and packing for the journey.

We just finished installing the salon curtains that we made for the boat. The drapery lady said that she couldn't finish them in time so we took on the project. Mark did the measuring, installation and a lot of the actual sewing.
